I have been trying to think of things to talk about lately and being that I have not done any shoots recently I decided to talk about some of my favorite people that I have worked with. So the next few posts that I make will just be about them and showcase some of their pictures. The first person I wanted to talk about was the beautiful Krisja.
If not for Krisja none of this would be possible. It's not a maybe, it's not a question, it is because of her that I am doing what I love to do. I met Krisja late in 2009. Me and a few friends were out to dinner and Krisja was our waitress. As soon as she walked up to our table I told everyone sitting there that I had to shoot with her. She had the most amazing eyes I had ever seen. They weren't just blue, they were like crystals. Near the end of dinner I stopped her and asked her if she would be interested in a photo shoot. All I had on me at the time was a business card and thankfully I was at dinner with 2 girls I had shot with before. After about a minute or two of convincing she said that she would shoot and we exchanged info. This was on a Tuesday. Wasting no time at all we planned and shot on that same Saturday. We did the shoot with at my friend Jeff's warehouse in Farmingdale all while a huge snowstorm was barreling down on us that afternoon. From picture number one I knew it was going to be something special. Krisja just had "it." The amazing eyes mixed in with an exuberant smile and a comfortableness in front of the camera all equaled an amazing shoot. We shot for a few hours and then all felt it was for the best to get home and be safe during the storm. Smart move being that we got almost 2 feet of snow throughout that day and night.
Later that night I sent Krisja a few edits and as soon as she put them on Facebook the ball got rolling. Within minutes it had dozens of likes and comments and people were starting to contact me about their own shoots. At that point I had a feeling I was going to be getting a lot busier. Thanks to her my page started blowing up and every day I was getting new emails and messages from people about shooting. That following week we planned shoot number 2. I thought the first shoot was good, then the 2nd shoot happened and she knocked it out of the park.
Almost to the day, we did the second shoot one month later. Again it was at the warehouse but this time there was no storm on the horizon. We did less looks but got even better shots. Krisja is fearless when it comes to being in front of the camera and that made everything so super easy. After so many shots I would look at the screen on the back of the camera and start laughing because it was like it was to easy. We both knew we were creating some special images. After that shoot I didn't sleep that night because I was up all night editing. I was never happier to miss out on sleep.
