Jen Lee Dahl

It seems like every week I get more and more people asking me about Jen Lee.
"Who is Jen Lee?"
"Whats up with that Jen Lee girl?"
"Is that Jen Lee girl nice?"
It is a simple answer every time. Jen is amazing!! She is a sweetheart and an inspiration. Spend 5 minutes with Jen and you will never forget it.
When I first met Jen I would be lying to you if I told you I was not intimidated. She walked in the room and you knew it. It was like an energy source being turned on. Her heels were high, her sunglasses were dark, her tattoos were big, and her confidence was off the scales. Not an ego, just confidence. I was doing a shoot for CRWWND Clothing at the time and Jen was one of the models. I didn't know her at the time and had no idea that the girl about to walk in would become one of my all time favorite people. She lit up in front of the camera and for me was a whole new look. We exchanged information at the end of the shoot and began planning our own shoot for the near future.

It took a while to set up the first shoot. Our schedules were hectic and with Jen in Philly and me in Brooklyn we had some hurdles to get over. It all finally came together when I got a gig in Atlantic City and asked Jen if she would be free the following day. Luckily it all worked out and we decided to try and find some spots around the Philly area to shoot. That ended up not being as easy as we thought it would be and after getting tossed out of our first public space we decided that maybe a location would be necessary. After a few phone calls Jen landed us a great spot very close to where we were. The Roxxy nightclub gave us all the time and space that we wanted and could not have worked out any better for us. Jen has a look like no one else and when you ask her to bring her best she shines and on this shoot she blew me away. As soon as I left the shoot my first text to her was, "when are we shooting again?!" Thankfully Jen was as excited as I was to shoot again and it did not take very long.

Topping our first shoot was going to be hard but Jen and I were determined to do so. We talked a bunch and got some great ideas together. Jen mentioned to me that there was a hotel near her that had theme rooms and that this one particular room would be perfect for our shoot. When I first got to the room I had some initial worries. The room was full of mirrors and was dark and had a lot of tough angles. To the naked eye it looked great but trying to get the place lit great was going to be a challenge. After the first few shots all of my worries were put to bed. Jen made it easy. Her attitude and her outlook on life made the shoot a blast. She comes across so powerfully on camera that it is hard to notice the background or location. Another shoot and and another huge success.

I wish I knew how to properly thank you Jen. Words can not express how happy I am to know you. When I am down you bring me up. I look at your pics and laugh because it makes me realize where simply being a photographer has brought me. It has put a force like you in front of my camera and into my life. You make me look at things differently and you make me appreciate the fact that I have the greatest job ever. Your accessories, Just Strut Doll, are already a success and you will take it to greatness. Don't ever change!

Below is my favorite shot of Jen. She would call it very "Joshua Paull" and that is OK with me. To me, it is a simple beautiful picture of a stunning woman. I love this shot!
